"Dance is my inner voice. Dance is the air I breathe. Dance is my soul."

Cuando Te Conoci is a solo work that sequences moments and reminiscence of visiting for the first time. There is admiration and eloquence of Cuban women through her stance, dialogue and movements. She dances with poise, speaks with confidence, and smiles with joy. This solo embraces Cuban rhythms of Rumba and entices the audiences with the fusion of both contemporary dance elements with cuban's torso and hips. Rhythm, Dance and Music and the People is part of what makes the Cuban culture!
Que Familia discusses the notion that to look Cuban, latina, or hispanic is defined through one lens. The soloist goes through her journey un-peeling her childhood memories and coming to terms with who she is. Her family's voices as the sound score dialogue help her navigate through the space trying to find clarity and balance. The dialogue gives depth and controversy to the discussions on race, politics and culture. However regardless of disagreeable views; Family is the driving force of it all.
